Tropikal Optikal is a concept created by myself and Ragnar Mar which revolves around the idea of creating low-tech animation.
Tropikal Optikal II - Síldarævintýrið 2.0 / The Herring Adventure 2.0, which was also exhibited at Kveldúlfur Sjósuða at Verksmiðjan Hjalteyri summer 2011, is a 350x250cm print which uses the phenomenon called peripheral drift illusion to create the illusion that the circle of fishes slightly rotate.
