Tropikal Optikal I

Tropikal Optikal is a concept created by myself and Ragnar Mar which revolves around the idea of creating low-tech animation.
Tropikal Optikal I is a light installation piece which was exhibited at Lunga Art Festival 2011 in Seyðisfjörður. It was also exhibited at Kveldúlfur Sjónsuða at Verksmiðjan Hjalteyri summer 2011.
The piece consists of 150x150cm illustration of a discoball colored in cyan, magenta and yellow. On to the illustration is cast a light which has a rotating, plastic, colored film infront of it. The color film is divided into three equally large pieces of red, green and blue which each effect the colors of the illustration in a way that the discoball seems to rotate.
